
Kathleen "Kay" Reid
REID, KATHLEEN "KAY" I. - Kay I. Reid of Hillsborough and formerly of New Horton, passed away suddenly at her home on December 3rd, 2012. Kay was born in Saint John the daughter of the late Reuben and Minnie (McGee) Thompson. She was a member of the New Horton Baptist Church and attended the Valley Baptist Church after she moved to the Hillsborough area. Kay worked in her father's restaurant and last worked as a cashier at the Cleveland Place Gift Shop in Alma for 15 years before her retirement. Kay loved to cook and was known for her pickles, she also enjoyed sewing. She was definitely part of her community and always made sure she was there for anyone in need. Kay enjoyed volunteering and was definitely a giver, she would put others needs ahead of her own. She also helped out in the Sunday Schools and in other areas dealing with children. Kay was a very special lady who loved her family very much. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. She always had a smile for everyone she met. She will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever. She will be deeply missed by her five daughters, Marilyn Robichaud (Fern) of Lower Coverdale, Janet Rossiter (Paul) of Lower Coverdale, Phyllis Sanford (Kenneth) of Riverside-Albert, Karen Garland (Mike Larsen) of Ca-Pele and Patti Kelly (Matthew) of Irishtown; her precious 10 grandchildren and cherished five great grandchildren. She will also be missed by several nieces, nephews and by many friends. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband Frank Reid and by an infant daughter.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Kay's life will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Friday, December 7th, 2012 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Bruce Alcorn officiating. Following the service the family will be meeting for further fellowship and for refreshments at the funeral home. Interment will be held in the Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB. Donations to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
