PICTOU LANDING – Jessie Beatrice (Irving) MacFarlane, formerly of Pictou Landing, passed away peacefully at the Maritime Odd Fellows Home in Pictou on December 6, 2012, with her family by her side.
Born on July 13, 1926, she was the fourth eldest daughter of the late Edward Milton (Bob) and Edith Mae (Balcombe) Irving, Trenton.
Jessie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and especially liked to provide, cook and bake for her family and friends. In her early years she was an employee of F.O. McLeod Photography Studio.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband George, sisters, Phyllis and Grace; brothers: Gladstone, Kelly and Milton; and daughter Brenda.
Surviving are children: Carole (Brian), Vancouver; Ross (Ann), Oakville, Ont.; Doris (Carl), Doha, Qatar; Janet (Frank), Pictou Landing; Dawn, Bedford; Wendy (Craig),Timberlea; and Sandy (Sharon), Pictou Landing; also brothers: Bobby, Ont.; Alfred, Pictou Landing and Cyril (Effie), Nfld. In addition, there are 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Saturday in the R. H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral to be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in Bethel Presbyterian Church, Pictou Landing. Burial will be in Seaveiw Cemetery, Bayview, Pictou.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Maritime Odd Fellows Home, South Wing, Pictou.
