BASTARACHE, YVETTE - 1939 - 2012 - Yvette Bastarache, 73, of Saint-Antoine passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont Hospital University Centre, Moncton on Monday, December 10th, 2012. She was married to Jérome Bastarache. Born in Saint-Damien, she was the daughter of the late Adelard and Anna (LeBlanc) Cormier. Yvette, while living in the USA, worked in a nursing home as a caregiver and loved it. Because of this, she happily volunteered every week for many years at the Residence Bénaise in Saint-Antoine. She also had a passion to learn and enrolled in the Alphabetization school to improve her reading and writing skills. For many years, one day at a time, she accomplished her Dream!! Her friends will miss her also as they were a very important part of her life. The family sends a special thanks to all the staff at the Dr Léon Richard Oncology Centre and the Palliative Care Unit of the hospital for their expertise, compassion and caring. She will be sadly missed by her husband Jérome, her four children; Debbie Allain (Normand) and Terry (Marie-Josée) both of Saint-Damien, Pierre (Angèle) of Sainte-Marie de Kent, Ricky (Jeannette) of Moncton, her seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her sister Loretta Arsenault (Everard) of Cocagne, her brother Ronald (Nora) of Montréal, and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by three sisters; Marie, Stella and Doris and four brothers; Léo, Raoul, Alcide and Laurie.
Visitations will be held at the Saint-Antoine L’Ermite Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Saint-Antoine on Thursday, December 13th, 2012 from 7 to 9 and on Friday from 9 to 10:45 am. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Antoine Church on Friday, December 14th, 2012 at 11:00 am with interment in the parish cemetery. In Yvette’s memory donations can be made to the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont Hospital Foundation.
