B.Sc., B. Med. Sc., PhD Queen’s, FTICA ICA Hall Medal 1999, Professor of Mathematics at MUN, born January 30, 1960, passed peacefully away at L.A. Miller Centre, St. John’s, NL on December 10th, 2012. Loving husband of Jacqueline (Parrell) and devoted father to Christina, Robert (Angela), Allison (Justin), Joanna, and David. Predeceased by father Professor. Rainer Rolf Rees, mother Irene Elizabeth Rees, and brother David Rolf Rees. Also leaving to mourn with loving memories sisters: Sylvia Rees, Diana Steinke (Wade); brother Robert Rees (Jane); Uncle Tilman Garbe (Maria de los Angeles Castillo); and 13 nephews and nieces. Special lifelong friends Anthony Metcalfe and Robert Perchard, also a large circle of family, friends and his colleagues in the Math department at MUN. Cremation has taken place. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home on Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. – 12 noon, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. -9 p.m. Funeral Service to take place at Caul’s Chapel on Saturday, December 15th , 2012 at 9:30 a.m. Inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
