The death occurred at the Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, of Eleanor Blacquiere (nee Peters), wife of the late Ferdinand (Ferdie) Blacquiere, of North Rustico, age 79.
Eleanor was the beloved mother of Brian (Bev), Betty Myers (Bill), Janice, Rosie Doiron (Allister), Len (Sherry), Craig (Anne) and Gerard (Joan); loving Gramma of Heather Blacquiere; Keri (Mike) and Corey Myers; Corine and Krista Doiron; Melody Blacquiere; Lindsay Blacquiere; and Jordan and Hailey Blacquiere; and great-grandmother of Christian Myers and Serena Blacquiere. She is also survived by her brothers, Raymond (Betty) and Arnold (Chris) Peters; sisters, Irene Gallant, Helen Doiron, Margaret Gauthier (Francis) and Eunice Gillis (John); sisters-in-law, Rose Marie Peters, Velda Arsenault (Hector) and Marie Peters (Stephen, predeceased); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was predeceased by her parents Jeremiah and Ida (LeClair) Peters; grandson, Jamie Myers; brothers, Elmer (Gertie), Alban (Estelle), Clarence (Dorothy), Reginald and Jeremiah “Junior” Peters; sisters, Rita Gauthier (Auspice), Clarice Buote (Ernest), Ella Mae Gallant (Alphonse) and infant sister, Irene Emma; and brothers-in-law, Leo Gallant and Edward Doiron.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Thursday, December 13, 2012, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The CWL will hold a prayer service at the funeral home Thursday evening at 6:45 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico, on Friday, December 14, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Due to severe allergies, please refrain from wearing scented products.
