The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at the Beach Grove Home, Charlottetown, P.E.I., on Thursday, December 20, 2012, of Edward Roy McOrmond, formerly of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 90 years. Veteran of Second World War.
Beloved husband of the late Mina McOrmond (nee Dye) and loving father of Gary (Kathy) of Bridgetown, N.S., Brian (Jeannette) of Moncton, N.B., Bruce (Heather) of Halifax, N.S., Bonnie of Charlottetown, Dale (Dawn) of Edmonton, AB, and Steven (Janet) of Toronto, ON. Also lovingly remembered by his eight grandchildren: Dominique, Heather, Chelsea, Gregory, Laura, Alex, Cailee and Riley; along with several nieces and nephews. Survived by the following brothers and sisters: Walter (Marion), Leonard, Muriel Ross, Charles; and also his brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill Bulmer, Neil Davidson, Pat McOrmond, Harry Dye and Jock Mungall.
Besides his wife, Ed was predeceased by his brothers, Ken (June) and Robert; his sisters, Mildred Bulmer and Lillian Davidson; his sisters-in-law, Shirley Dye and Edith Mungall; and brother-in-law, Manson Dye.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in Summerside at a later date. Interment will take place in People's Cemetery, Summerside.
Memorial donations in Ed's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundaion would be greatly appreciated and may be made at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, P.E.I., C1N 5T4.
