Peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Souris Hospital, on Saturday, December 22, 2012, of Arthur J. MacDonald of Little Pond, age 81 years.
Devoted husband of 55 years to Mary Ellen (Ellie) MacDonald (nee Walker), and loving father of Wendy (Bernard) Gillis, Dolores (Kevin) Campbell, Paul (Beth) MacDonald, Joan (Carl) Chapman, Verna (Steven) Ramsay, Kim MacDonald, and Janine (Bobby) Nielsen. Lovingly remembered by his 18 grandchildren: Neal (Rachel) and Jessica Gillis; Colin, Alex (Ellie Anderson), Elizabeth, Heather, and Ian Campbell; Sarah, Kate, and Grace MacDonald; Ellen, Andrew, and Connor Chapman; Emma and Will Ramsay; Nathan, Allison and Maria Nielsen; and two great-grandchildren: Claire and Irene Gillis.
Predeceased by his parents Vincent and Jessie, and brothers Eugene, Lloyd, Ronald and Robert (Bob).
Resting at the Dingwell Funeral Home in Souris for visiting hours on Thursday, December 27, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and Friday, December 28, from 9-10:30 a.m. Funeral mass to be held at St. Francis de Sales Church in Little Pond on Friday, December 28, at 11 a.m. with interment in the parish cemetery.
