1943 - 2012
Alma passed peacefully away on December 26, 2012 after a long, determined battle with cancer, surrounded by her loved ones. An inspiration and pillar of strength to all around her, she comforted her loved ones to the very end. Alma is survived by her loving husband Winston and predeceased by her parents: Nellie and Albert Gosse; her brother Tolson; and her grandson Carter Hiscock. Left with strong examples of life and love are: Alma’s and Winston’s sons: Todd (Ann), Neil (Colette), and her grandchildren: Nicholas, Stefan, Alexander and Rachel; her siblings: Aurelie Jackson (Lloyd, deceased) Gwen Taylor (Tom), Geraldine Cole (Frank, deceased); and her brother Randy (Cecille); also sister-in-law Alicia Moores (Bert); brother-in-law Rev. Hollis Hiscock (Helen); 16 nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and close friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, Freshwater Road, on Thursday and Friday 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service on Saturday, December 29, St. Thomas’ Anglican Church at 2 p.m., with interment to follow in the family plot in the Anglican Cemetery on Forest Road. Alma was a lifelong member of the General Hospital Auxiliary and the St. Thomas’ Church Sanctuary Unit. Donations may be made to the Health Care Foundation, and flowers are gratefully accepted.
