On Jan. 1, 2013, Tuesday, Norma travelled home to be with the loved ones who have gone before her.
Born in Glace Bay, Norma was the daughter of the late Mary (Trapp) Morrison.
She was employed with the New Waterford Homecare Society for the past 14 years, where she made many friends.
Norma was most happy while helping others. She tried to enjoy life by spending as much time as possible outdoors. Norma’s passion was being among nature and taking pictures.
She leaves behind her six brothers, Fabian (Cathy), Ray (Darlene), Roddie (Valerie), Henry (Cathy), Jimmy (Cathy), Glen (Joanne) and also her three sisters, Christina, Donna and Diane.
Besides her mother, Norma was predeceased by her one and only true love, her fiancé, Thomas Corbett from Whitney Pier; grandparents, Christina (MacLean) Trapp and Henry Jerome Trapp, who raised her.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The funeral mass, officiated by Rev. Leo Boone, is Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in St. Leo's Church, followed by a reception in the parish hall, located below the church. Interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Norma Jean may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation.
