Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, January 3, 2013, Irene Joan French (nee Brown), aged 60 years of Brigus. Predeceased by her parents Daniel and Elizabeth Brown, parents-in-law Jacob and Florence French, infant son Joseph, brother Thomas Brown and brother-in-law William Hayes. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Gerald of 40 years; son Gerald DJ and wife Kelly; grandsons: Zachery and Peyton; brothers: George (Isabel) and Danny; sisters: Florence Hayes and Daphne (John) Roache; brothers-in-law: Abe (Hannah), Evert (Mable) and Wes (Sue); sisters-in-law: Shirley French & Patricia Brown, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Broughton's Funeral Home, Brigus. Visitation to take place on Friday from 7-9 p.m., Saturday & Sunday from 10 a.m.- 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Patrick's Parish, Brigus.
