DOUCETTE, ABEL - 1941 - 2013 - Abel Doucette, 71, of Dieppe, NB, passed away on Saturday, January 5th, 2013 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center. Born in East Collette, NB, he was the son of the late Etienne and the late Emilie (née: Bernard) Doucette. Prior to retirement, Mr. Doucette was employed as a school teacher at Rogersville and Vanier schools. He will be remembered as a handyman, a person who enjoyed woodcutting, who had a passion for nature and as a person always available to lend a helping hand. He was a long time member of Scouts Canada, “Les amis de la nature” nature club, Saint-Anselme parish and Club d’Âge d’Or. He is survived by his wife, Noëlla (née: Richard); two sons: Denis (Julie) of Ottawa, ON, and Jacques (Isabelle) of Dieppe; seven sisters: Patricia (late Emile) Goguen of Dieppe, Stella (late Médric) Thibodeau of Rogersville, Mélanie (late Zoel) Maillet of Dieppe, Cecile (Guillaume) Després of New Carlisle, QC, Julia (Leo) Richard of Seagrave, ON, Ernestine (Donald) Gaudet of Dieppe and Majella (Gilles) Caissie of Irishtown; three brothers: Georges (Odile) of Memramcook, Norman (Gisèle) of Irishtown and Bernard (Jeannita) of New Maryland, NB; one sister-in-law, Jeannine Doucette of Saint John, NB; two grand-children: Samuel and Stéphanie, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, John.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and also Thursday from 12:30 pm until time of departure. Funeral mass will be celebrated from the Saint-Anselme Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, January 10th, 2013 at 1:30 pm. Interment in the Saint-Anselme Parish Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
