
Jarrett Ronald Barclay
Barclay, Jarrett Ronald, 33, Debert passed away suddenly in a snowmobile accident in Debert on Saturday, January 5, 2013. Born in Halifax he was the son of Larry and Valerie (Mooring) Barclay, Crowes Mills, N.S. Jarrett was a well known motor sports enthusiast and especially recognized for his participation in and dedication to the Nova Scotia Off-Road 4X4 Racing Series. He owned and operated a second generation family business, Barclay’s Heating and Contracting. He was an accomplished tradesman who appreciated his employees, customers and suppliers. Jarrett was famous for building the “biggest, baddest” trucks around. He lived his passion of driving hard and horsepower through his favourite activities including off-roading, four-wheeling, snowmobiling and racing. His determination to do it “his way” endeared him to his numerous friends, fans, competitors and even enemies. Jarrett had a huge circle of friends and loved being around people. He will always be remembered for his way with words, distinct laugh and ability to captivate others. He is survived by his parents, Larry and Valerie; sister, Tammy; nephew, Brandon; paternal grandmother, Mildred Barclay (Rushton); lifelong friend, Jacquelyn Lawrence; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 9th, from 6 – 9 p.m. with a funeral service, Thursday, January 10th at 2 p.m. both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro.
