Orilla Rose "Scotty" Pierce

PIERCE, Orillia Rose “Scotty”, 71, Lockeport, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, January 4, 2013. Scotty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She doted on her grandchildren. She worked for the Department of National Defence at Shearwater and later at Canada Post in Lockeport. Scotty was a past member of the Legion Ladies Auxillary in Lockeport and a member of the Red Hat Society in Dartmouth. She was physically active and outgoing with an avid interest in participating in sports such as Ringette and Curling. She taught and participated in sports in Shannon Heights as well as having taught and participated in figure skating. Her friendly, sometimes mischievous and straight forward personality brought many friends into her life. She is survived by her husband, Ernest “Ondon” Pierce; sons, Chris Jackson, Toronto; Pete Jackson “Steve” (Jill), Middleton; daughter, Kelly Jackson-Sorge (Mark), Port Colborne, Ontario; step-son, Ernie (Susan) Pierce, Jordan Bay; step-daughter, Sue (Brad) Legallis, Bedford; grandchildren, Jeremy, Camilla, Joshua, Parker, Garreth, Ian, Kate, Andrew, Garrett and Morgan. She was predeceased by mother, Evelyn Henderson and grandmother Annie Pettipas. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held on Sunday, January 13 in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne with Pastor Tim Garren officiating. Interment at a later date. In memory of Scotty memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
