HOFFART: Arthur Jerome Hoffart, age 89, of Gull Lake, SK passed away January 6, 2013 at the Gull Lake Special Care Centre. Prayer Service was held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. from St. Anne Catholic Church, Gull Lake, SK with Father Prince Kurisinkal officiating. The Funeral Mass was held Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11:00 am from St. Anne Catholic Church with Father Prince Kurisinkal. Pallbearers were Jerome Robert, Marcel Robert, Adrian Robert, Jacqueline Woytiuk, Barry Logan and Bob Francis. The Interment Service took place at the Gull Lake Cemetery. Arthur was born in Sandborn, ND. He moved from North Dakota with his family at a young age to a farm just outside of Gull Lake where he attended school on the Bench near the family farm. He went to work in Cranbrook, BC as a young man for a short time and then returned home to take over the farm from his parents along with his brother Manfred, until their retirement. Art lived in Gull Lake with Manfred until 2012, when he moved into Autumn House and then moved to the Special Care Centre where he lived until his passing. Arthur was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Gull Lake all of his life. In his spare time Arthur enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Citizen's Hall, visiting with his friends on coffee row and in his younger years he enjoyed curling. Arthur is survived by his sisters Mina (Roland) Robert and Dolores (Russell) Uttley; brother Manfred Hoffart and many nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his parents John and Albertine, brothers Jerome and Gerald and sister Iona. The family would like to express their appreciation to Autumn House and the Special Care Centre for the exceptional care given to Arthur during his stay.
