The death occurred peacefully at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, on Sunday, May 25, 2008, of Peter Vincent Handrahan of Kensington, and formerly of Tignish, age 90 years. Vincent was born on June 26, 1917, in Norway, P.E.I., to his late parents, Austin and Melvina (Ready) Handrahan. Beloved husband of the late Marion (nee McQuaid) Handrahan. Survived by his sisters-in-law, Alice Hunt, Peggy Spilsbury, Mary, Teresa and Joan McQuaid. Also lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters, Eileen (Roy) Harper, Viola (Wade) Harper, Anna (Jack) Connolly, Emily (Melvin) McQuaid and by his brothers, Alfred (Emily), Stephen, Austin and Bernard Handrahan. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Wednesday, May 28, then to the Church of the Holy Family, Kensington, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in St. Simon and St. Jude Parish Cemetery, Tignish, at 3 p.m. Visiting hours on Tuesday evening only, 6-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Vincent’s memory to St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery Fund or Meals on Wheels, Kensington, would be greatly appreciated.
