RICHARD, DIANE - At the Grand Falls General Hospital, January 17, 2013, Mrs. Diane Richard of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 70 years. She was the wife of Eudore Richard. Born at Grand Falls in 1942, she was the daughter of the late Hans and Annie (Jensen) Nissen of New Denmark. She is survived by her husband, four children, Kathy (Ken Soucy) of Grand Falls, Andrew (partner Brenda Keeley) of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Andrea (Ian Johnstone) of Truro, NS and John (Denise Godin) of Moncton, seven grandchildren, Alex and Craig Soucy, Dominique Richard, Kaleb Johnstone, Chad Richard, Logan Johnstone and Alyssa Richard, brother, Gavin Nissen (Beth) of New Denmark, sisters-in-law, Patsy Nissen of Perth-Andover, Leitha Albert of Ottawa and Dorothy Hanscom (Garold) of California Settlement, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Stanley, Peter and Hans Jr.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Her funeral service will be held Saturday, January 19th at 2 p.m. from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls with Father Michael Toner and Father Pierre Thibodeau officiating. Interment will be in the Assumption Cemetery. For those who wish, donations to The Gorge Quilt Guild or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Diane was a very active member of The Gorge Quilt Guild who volunteer their time and talents hand-making quilts that are given to cancer patients. www.oregans.ca
