THOMAS, NANCY "ETHEL" - It is with heavy hearts the family of Nancy “Ethel” Thomas (nee Ferguson) announces her passing at the Oromocto Public Hospital on January 16, 2013. Ethel was born at Six Roads on January 25, 1930 to Bertha and Frank Ferguson. Ethel is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Leonard Thomas; her eight children Rena; Gordon (Marilee); Barb (Bazil); Loraine all of Gagetown; Irene (Rick) of Salisbury; Mary (Donny), Deanna of Gagetown and Jim (Carolyn) of Edmonton AB; one foster child – Raymond Arsenault, Fort Saskatchewan; her 14 grand children Ben, Julia, Jody (Billy), JJ (Candace), Julie (Kevin), Jesse (Shana), Tyler T, TC (Whitney), Tyler (Carla), Luke, Brandon (Jen), Jeremy, Jacob, Caden as well as her 12 great grandchildren Patrick, Kyle, Ethan, Ireland, Denver, MacKenzie, Morgan, Matthew, Kennedy, Brynn, Beckett and Jace. She is also survived by her brothers Wallace and Kenneth, her sisters Myrtle, Mina and Gladys and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her mother, Bertha, father, Frank, brothers Ken, Ivan, Richard, Clifford, Ernest and her sisters Hilda and Bertie. Ethel devoted her life to raising her family. Her passion was cooking, cleaning and making sure the family was well taken care of. She enjoyed helping out with church functions, playing cards, bingo and watching hockey. Her family will miss her dearly. The Lord has truly received an exceptional angel. Thank you to the doctors and nurses of Oromocto Public Hospital Med 1 for the care and compassion given to our dear mother.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St., on Friday, January 18, 2013 from 4 to 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11 AM. Father Ken Weir and Father Aaron Knox officiating.
