Passed peacefully away on January 10, 2013, at Bonnews Lodge, Badger’s Quay, Emma Hunt in her 100th year. Predeceased by parents Samuel and Charity Spurrell; husband Joseph; daughter Carrie; sons: Gordon and Jesse; and grandson Cornelius. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are daughters: Sadie (Robert) Bown of Glovertown, Violet and Maisie of St. John’s; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law: Neta Best of St. John’s, Maggie Hunt of St. John’s and Alice Hunt of Peterborough, Ontario; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral Service was held on January 13 at Grace Pentecostal Church, Valleyfield, with Pastor William Burton officiating. Interment followed at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Valleyfield. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
