NICKERSON, Tara Leah Dawn – 24 years, Burbine Street, Yarmouth, surrounded by her loving family was welcomed home into the arms of her Saviour on Thursday, the 17th of January, 2013 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. She was born the 10th of August, 1988 in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. She was the daughter of Walter “Leslie” and Donna (Hurlburt) Nickerson. Tara Leah was a member of Acadia First Nations. She was a loving mother to her three children: sons, Mahkie and Dre’son and daughter Keijaunna. She is also survived by her sisters, Tiffany (Jason) and Brittany (Matthew) all of Yarmouth; her grandparents, Walter Nickerson, Wood’s Harbour, Shelb. Co.; Roy Hurlburt, Deerfield, Yarmouth Co.; Loretta Hurlburt, Yarmouth; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Tara Leah was an amazing young woman who loved life, and after a long and courageous battle with a cancer she could not beat, she quietly went home to her Creator. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was predeceased by her grandmother, Joyce (Perry) Nickerson, Wood’s Harbour. Visitation took place from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday evening at H. M. Huskilson Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Monday, January 21 from Temple Baptist Church, Bond Street, Yarmouth, Rev. Michael “Alden” Fells officiating. Interment followed in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Yarmouth. It was requested that there be family flowers only.
