ABERCROMBIE – Douglas George Hill, age 75 of Abercrombie Loop, passed away on January 17th, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late George A. and Mildred (Bell) Hill.
Doug was a resident of Abercrombie since 1969 having lived his early years in the Moncton area. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy, also a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion and a member of Br. #34 Royal Canadian Legion, New Glasgow.
He was an adherent of Trinity United Church. During his working years Doug worked as a salesman. Doug enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife the former Catherine Lutes; a son Stephen (Lynn) Hill of St. John, NB.
Doug was predeceased by his parents and a daughter Tanya in infancy.
Cremation has taken place. A public memorial service will take place on Monday at 2 p.m. from the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Shaffner officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens, Moncton.
Donations in memory of Doug may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Fund or the Pictou County VON.
