VAUGHAN, FREDERICK CHARLES - It is with great sadness that the family of Frederick Charles Vaughan announces his peaceful passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Thursday, January 17, 2013 with his family at his side. Born in Canterbury on September 4, 1928, he was the son of the late Vernard and Viola (McLaughlin) Vaughan. Fred leaves behind his beloved family: wife Faye (Grant) Vaughan; children Marilyn, Saint John, NB, David, London, ON and Kathryn, Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Liam, Sean and Meagan Hughes and Darcie Rioux; brother Jerome Vaughan (Elizabeth) and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Marjorie McDowell. Fred worked as an engineer for the CPR. He was devoted to his family, loved the outdoors, travelling, chatting with the boys at the Mall and "buying oats for the horses." A quiet man of integrity, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Andrea Hickey, Dr. Debbie Gowan and the nursing staff of 3SE and the Palliative Care Unit for their outstanding and compassionate care. We will never forget you.
At Fred’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place in the Hillman Cemetery in the spring. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Fred, the family has suggested the Palliative Care Unit, through the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Foundation.
