The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, of Melbourne MacKinnon, of Summerside, formerly of New Haven, aged 74 years. Born in Churchill, he was the son of the late Robert and Hazel (Buchanan) MacKinnon. Survived by his wife Betty (MacAusland) MacKinnon; daughter Sharon (John) Doyle, Summerside; grandchildren Adam and Jordan MacMillan; brother William (Ann) MacKinnon; and sister-in-law Velda (Phonse) Poirier. Predeceased by his brother Kenneth MacKinnon. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment later in Churchill Presbyterian Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations to the Churchill Presbyterian Cemetery or to the Integrated Palliative Care Program would be appreciated.
