KIERSTEAD, MICHAEL - It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Michael Todd Kierstead, of Havelock, on January 19th, 2013 at the Moncton City Hospital. Born on June 12, 1962, Mike was a son of Vera Viola (nee Keith) Kierstead of Havelock and the late Murray Wallace Kierstead. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon (nee Middleton), as well as by his two wonderful boys: Rily and Murray. Mike is also survived by his Mom, Vera Kierstead; his brothers: Paul Murray, Lance Dale and Danny Lynn; his sister Shawna Lisa Sheri; parents-in-law, Norm and Wendy (nee O’Blenis) Middleton; several nieces and nephews and a large number of extended family and friends. Besides his father, Mike was predeceased by his brother, Kevin Clay and his sister, Misty Leigh. Mike graduated from Petitcodiac Regional High School in 1982. After a severe accident in 1991, he became a stay-at-home Dad to Rily and Murray. Family was the most important thing to Mike and they were his pride and joy. He loved his cars and was an avid motorsports enthusiast. He enjoyed gardening, barbequing, entertaining, and was known to always have more than enough food cooked to feed everyone. Mike was the king of one-liners, loved to joke around and was very quick-witted. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac, from where a celebration of Mike’s life will be held, Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 3 to 4:30pm and 6 to 8:30pm. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to a Living Memorial would be appreciated by the family.
