
Marion McCarroll
McCARROLL, MARION LOUISE - With sadness, Marion’s family announces the death of their beloved mother and Nannan on January 20, 2013 at Passamaquoddy Lodge in Saint Andrews, N.B. Born on January 27, 1920, to Margaret and William Devlin she married the late Philip McCarroll in 1943. A lifelong resident of Charlotte County, she was an active community volunteer giving support to the Charlotte County Hospital Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels and many committees in Holy Rosary Parish, including president of CWL. After raising her family, she enjoyed working at Sears and remained a proud member of the “Sear’s girls” throughout her retirement. Although, not athletic by nature, because she was married to Phil, she learned to love golf. Marion was a noted local artist whose love for her family and community are reflected in her work. She is survived by two sons, Bill (Kathryn Kirk) of Rothesay and Bob (Patti Davis) of Halifax; seven grandchildren, Dr. Kirk (Kate), Sean (Jessica), Gregor, Claire (Alex Bradburn), Julie (Brendan Curry), Monica (Geoff West), and Paul; three great-grandchildren, Owen and Simon West and Max McCarroll (Kate and Kirk); cherished sister-in-law, Marie Devlin; niece and nephew, Ann Devlin and Dr. Bill Devlin. Besides her husband of 43 years, she was predeceased by her daughter, Peggy Wilson (Doug), her brother, Paul Devlin, and granddaughter, Christian. The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff of Lonicera Hall and Passamaquoddy Lodge for exceptional care for Marion in her final years.
In accordance with Marion’s wishes, a Mass of Christian Burial and internment will be held in the spring, at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations to either Lonicera Hall or Passamaquoddy Lodge in support of the work they do with the elderly. The S.O.
