Frances "Fran" Steeves

STEEVES, FRANCES “FRAN” M. - Frances “Fran” M. Steeves, 88, of McNair Manor, Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Monday morning, January 21, 2013. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Annie (O’Hara) Kervin. Fran was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and was a long time member of Lewisville Baptist Church. She was a member of the Dr. Bob Taylor WMS of Lewisville Baptist Church, a Dominion Life Member of the UBWMU and a Life Member of the Gideon’s Ladies Auxiliary Moncton Camp. Fran enjoyed baking, knitting, flower gardening, entertaining at her home, socializing with her friends and spending precious time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Fran will be sadly missed by her loving daughters, Elizabeth “Beth” Steeves (Harry) and Wendy Somers (Dale), both of Moncton; precious grandchildren, Jeff Steeves (Susan), Karla Locke (Tony), Lauren Wilson (Tommy), twins George and Janique Steeves; cherished great grandchildren, Kameron, Ashton, Shallon and Phylecia; sisters, Marion Kervin of Burlington, ON; Jean Harrison of Hope, BC; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harold G. Steeves (May 3, 2012); son, Harold Jr. (2002); sisters, Alice, Evelyn, Agnes and Connie; brothers, Elmer (Michael), Bob (John) and Norman. Special thanks to the management and staff of McNair Manor, 44 Beechwood Ave.; staff of the Emergency Department at The Moncton Hospital; and 3600 Palliative Care Unit at The Moncton Hospital for the love and care shown to our mother.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service at Lewisville Baptist Church on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. Gordon MacLeod officiating. Reception in the Church Hall following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In Fran’s memory, donations to the Gideon’s or Lewisville Baptist Church Building Fund would be appreciated.
