
Antonio "Tony" Basque
BASQUE, ANTONIO “TONY” - Antonio "Tony" Basque, 85, of Moncton, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Moncton Hospital. Born on October 10, 1927 in Tracadie, he was the son of the late Sylvère and Emilienne (Losier) Basque. Prior to his retirement, Tony was head film editor at Radio-Canada for over 30 years. He was a 4th degree member with the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by the mother of his children, Rolande (Paulin) Basque; four sons: Robert (Anne Poirier) and Fernand, both of Moncton, René (Donna Gauthier) of Riverview and Jean (Jasmine Deroy) of Gatineau; two sisters: Diana Boulanger (late Albert) of Farnham, QC, and Marie-Thérèse St-Pierre (late Norman) of Tracadie; two brothers: Alphonse (late Bernadette) and Léolin, both of Tracadie; seven grandchildren: Nicole, Patrick, Alexandre, Katia, Virginie, Stephanie and Nicolas; one great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Lafrenière; several nieces and nephews whom he greatly appreciated as well as many friends. He was predeceased by his sisters and brothers: Bertha, Alban, Emilien, Allard as well as Lauza and Jean-Paul, both infants.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Christ-Roi R.C. Church, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton, on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 11 a.m. In memory of Antonio, a contribution to Food Depot Alimentaire would be appreciated. www.frenettefuneralhome.com
