RUSSELL, WELDON - With sadness the family announces the passing of Weldon Beverley Russell, loving husband of Sandra Muir-Russell, which occurred on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1939 in Saint John, he was the son of the late James Fraser and Nora Kathleen (Welling) Russell. Weldon worked as an Industrial Mechanic for 37 years, retiring from Irving Tissue in 1997. He was a member of the Irving Retirees, the Community Chaplaincy and the Musquash Fire Dept. from 1987-1989. From an early age he was active in the church community being a member of All Saints Anglican Church, Dipper Harbour Baptist Church and most recently Central Norton Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and long country drives especially on the Fundy Trail. Besides his wife Sandra, he is survived by his sons Troy (Trina) of Dipper Harbour, William "Bill" (Stacey) of Canterbury, NB; daughters Bonny (Douglas) Muir of Saint John and Cindy Warren of Summerside, PE; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters Patricia (Cecil) Kirkpatrick and Kathleen LeBlanc both of Saint John; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Helen Russell and brothers Fraser and Earle Russell.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland (646-2424) with visitation on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Central Norton Baptist Church, Bloomfield, King's Co. on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 2 p.m. Interment will take place in Chance Harbour Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to Camp Tulakadik, NB Heart Centre (SJRH) or the charity of the donor's choice. www.fundyfuneralhome.com
