ALLEN, FRANCES JEAN - At the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour, NB, on January 24, 2013, Mrs. Frances Jean Allen, wife of the late James H. Allen formerly of Canal, NB. Born at Canal, NB on September 15, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Margaret (Leonard) Maxwell. A loving sister in law, aunt and friend, Frances is survived by one sister in law, Nellie Allen of Kelowna BC and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, James, she was predeceased by sisters; Dorothy Giggie, Flora Henderson, Ethel Thomas, Grace Simpson, Lt. Colonel Pauline Maxwell and Edith Maxwell. Prior to her retirement, Frances worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia in St. George for 20 years. She enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and working around her property.
As keeping with Frances’ wishes, there will be no visitation. A service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB on Sunday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Darren Millett officiating.
