The death occurred peacefully at South Shore Villa in Crapaud on Saturday, May 31, 2008, of Henry Joseph Ceretti of Borden-Carleton in his 100th year. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (Peggy) MacDonald Ceretti. Dear father of Norma (Verne) Johnston, Erie, Pennsylvania; Paula (Eugene) Murphy, Meadowbank; James (Barb Cutcliffe), Borden-Carleton; Paul, Duncan, B.C.; and Pamela (Robbie) Shaw, Brackley Beach. Predeceased by son John in 1967. Loving grandfather of Bill, Joe, Nanette and Jeremy Johnson; Maria Langille, Jennifer Spencer; Chad, Amber, Logan and Evan Ceretti; and Isaac and Dustin Shaw. Loving great-grandfather of Hailey and Hannah and Emma Johnson. Henry was also predeceased by brothers Bruno, Nuto, Naldo and Arthur, and sisters Emma, Juliette, Clementine and Helene. Henry was born to Joseph Ceretti and Josephine Lazzari Ceretti in Milan, Italy, on October 31, 1908, and immigrated with his family to Montreal in 1911. Henry came to Borden in 1938 and established Ceretti’s Hardware and Grocery which son James continues to operate today. Resting at Lawless Funeral Home in Kinkora for visitation on Tuesday, June 3, 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Seven Mile Bay on Wednesday, June 4, at 10:30 am. Interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Donations in Henry’s memory may be made to the Prince County Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society.
