Ralph M. Connors, 81, of Moncton, N.B., passed away peacefully with a smile on his face at the Sussex Health Centre on Friday, May 30, 2008. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Frederick and Altie (Larracey) Connors. A Second World War veteran, Ralph worked for the CNR until taking a teaching position at NBCC, St. Andrews, where he and his family lived for 24 years. He retired from NBCC, Moncton. He was passionate about sports, as a participant, coach, builder and gave generously of his time. He was past president of St. Andrews Legion Branch #8 and received the Meritorious Service Award. Ralph will be sadly missed by his daughters, Peggy Leahey (Mike), Charlottetown, Dr. Shelagh (Sis) Connors, Charlottetown, Erin McKenna (Larry), Apohaqui; son, Sean (Anne), Moncton; grandchildren, Bride, Eileen, Alex, Max, Marty, Sally, Sarah, Ian; several nieces and nephews; second wife, Bernice Connors. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, predeceased by his first wife, Patricia (Gillespie) Connors; infant sister, Mary; brothers, Gerald and Bill. No visitation by personal request. Moncton Legion #6 Memorial Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton, N.B. (506-858-1995), Tuesday, June 3, 2008, 10:30 a.m., followed immediately by the funeral service. Rev. Allison Carroll officiating. Reception following the service. Interment, St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery, Irishtown, N.B. In Ralph’s memory, donations to Sussex Health Centre Palliative Care Unit or memorial of choice would be appreciated.
