New Glasgow - Constance M.R. “Connie” Stewart, 87, of New Glasgow, passed away at home on Friday, January 25, 2013. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Esther (Robinson) Holden. She loved being with her family and spending time outside doing flower beds and gardening. She also loved to bake and cook for her family and enjoyed playing bingo. She will be sadly missed by her daughters: Cindy (Clint) Anderson, New Glasgow; Joyce (Donald) Murray, Thorburn; her sons: Jerry (Margie), New Glasgow; Sammy (Irene), New Glasgow; Jimmy (Liz), New Glasgow; daughter-in-law, Gail, Saltsprings; her sister, Joyce Ching, PEI; nephew, Barry. She is also survived by a very large extended family of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, William Wallace “Bill” Stewart; son, Arnold Stewart; brother-in-law, Heath Ching. Visitation 7-9 pm Monday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. A graveside service will be held in Lorne Cemetery at a later date. Family flowers only please. Donations in her memory may be made to the Pictou County VON.
