(1921-201) – Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital in the presence of his family on Sunday, January 17, 2010, Lester Snelgrove in his 89th year. Lester was a retired employee of Metro Bus. Predeceased by his daughter Olga Penney; brothers: Reginald and Wallace; sister Verletta and grandson Matthew. Leaving to mourn with fond memories are his loving wife of 65 years Gertrude; daughters: Marie (Jerry Whelan), Donna (Owen Meadus), Olive (Jim Webb) and Sandra (Mark Gagne); son John (Kim); son-in-law Wally Penney; grandchildren: Paul (Joann), Scott (Michelle), Jason, Geoff, Steve (Heidi), Shane (Stacey), Susan (Dave), Curtis (Sara), Adam (Elizabeth), Mitchell, Evan, Rabecca; seven great-grandchildren; brothers: Frank, Earl (Evangeline), Eric (Jean), Allan (Marg); sisters: Mae, Olive and Ivy; sisters-in-law: Sybil and Edna. Also leaving to mourn are a large number of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends including special neighbours and friends: Dot, Jackie and Heather Harnum. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday, January 19th and Wednesday, January 20th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held from Barrett’s Chapel on Thursday, January 21st at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
