BEAN, NORMA IRENE - Norma Bean of Sussex, wife of the late Douglas M. Bean, passed away January 29, 2013 at the Sussex Health Centre. Born in Saint John on May 13, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Irene (Bent) McAllister. Norma was a graduate of Saint John High School, class of 1942. She is a past president of U.C.W. of Red Head, Hampton and Lower Millstream United Churches. Norma is a past president of Lower Millstream W.I., and also Ladies Auxiliary Hampton Branch 28. She was a member of the entertainment group “Upper Reflections” for seniors and nursing homes. She is survived by three sons, Gary Bean (Elaine) of Hampton, Jack Bean (Sandra) of Sussex, Richard Bean (Shelley) of Sussex; two daughters, Marilyn Yeomans of Fredericton, Janice Fenton (Paul) of Dawson Settlement, NB; one sister, Velma Keirstead (Herb) of Lorneville; twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by infant son, Brian; granddaughter, Lynn Bean; and son-in-law Robert Yeomans.
Resting at Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, on Friday from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. The funeral will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013, 11:00am, at Reid’s Funeral Home.
