With broken hearts we sadly announce the death of our dear brother Eric, who passed away at St. Catharines General Hospital on Jan. 25, 2013.
Born in Cape Breton, he was the son of the late Bernard and Rita Mae (MacLean) MacDonald.
Eric worked at the Nickersons Fish Plant until it closed, then had to leave his Cape Breton home to find work.
He enjoyed sports like wrestling and also enjoyed playing tarabish and listening to country music with his friends and family.
He is survived by his two children, Jolene and Lloyd and their mother, Janet, all of Ontario; brothers, Brian (Catherine), Leonard, both of Sydney Mines, Robert (Carolyn), Clarence, both of Sydney; and sisters, Vangie (Ebh Herridge), North Sydney, Laura (Dave), Sydney Mines; brother-in-law, Leo Bonar and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles
Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his brothers, Ronald and John, sisters, Marlene and Carolyn.
A memorial service for Eric will be held Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church with Fr. JJ MacDonald officiating A reception will be held in St. Pius X hall following the service.
