Ernest Allan Sayers, born in Edson, Alberta, March 29th, 1920 passed away in his home in Kamloops, B.C. on January 15th, 2013 at the age of 92. He left us to re-join his wife Betty who passed away in 2000.

He will be greatly missed by his four children Allan (Ruth) of Courtenay, Gloria Zwayer (Jon) of Indiana, Lysa Lee-Ellen of Kelowna, Donald (Dorie) of Kamloops along with five grandchildren Ryan and Karyn, David and Amanda and Rebecca and three grandchildren Coleton, Alaina and Cooper.

Ernie moved to Biggar, Saskatchewan at the age of three where he lived until he joined the Army at Regina in 1940. He was transferred to Red Deer for overseas training where he met Betty. They were married on April 2, 1943 and lived in Duncan and Courtenay on Vancouver Island. At the end of the war he moved his family to Turner Valley where he worked for Royalite Oil in the oil fields and was transferred to Kamloops in 1953.

Ernie was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, an avid golfer for many years and Amateur Radio Operator for several years. He played in several bands on the music scene in Kamloops since 1954. Betty and Ernie enjoyed travelling and spent many years wintering in Yuma, Arizona.

There will be no service by request, donations in his name may be made to the charity of your choice.
