GRANT, WINSTON LEROY - Newburg, New Brunswick - Winston Leroy Grant, age 72, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 31st. He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Jean Whitman, his sons Michael Freeman Grant, Dana Edward Grant (Kevin Patrick Murphy), his daughter Jacqueline (Grant) Desrochers (Denis) and his only grandchild, Grampie’s little angel, Hannah Elizabeth Desrochers. He also leaves behind his sister, Lois Crawford, brothers, Robert (Beatrice), Steven (Claudette), Mackie (Brenda), Keith, Terry (Sherry), Brian (Rosalyn), and many nephews & nieces. He was predeceased by his father and mother John and Evelyn Grant, brothers, Weldon, Lawrence and Junior Grant. Winston was an avid outdoorsman who loved working in his garden, landscaping, four-wheeling, walking his dog Biscuit, and fishing with Jean & Hannah. Dad was dearly loved by all and will be missed.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 at The Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville from 1:00 to 3:00 funeral will follow directly after the visitation at the funeral home chapel. The Reception will be in Canterbury at the Community Center. The Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the River Valley Cancer Support Group and the IWK Children’s Hospital in Halifax, NS. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Extra-Mural Program and to the Nurses in Oncology at Upper River Valley Hospital.
