Louis “Bud” Fisher passed away January 30, 2013 at the Mont St. Joseph Nursing Home. He was born March 6, 1930 and farmed with his dad and brothers from age 15 on the Little Red Reserve until 1972 when he moved to the Alingly district. He married Helen in 1954 and they continued farming until the early 90’s. They retired to Prince Albert in 2004 and his last 5 years were spent on Terrace Rose at Mont St. Joseph. Bud is survived by his loving wife Helen of almost 59 years; his two sons Tikki (Darlene) Fisher from Brooks, AB and Shawn (Zelda) Fisher from Dalmeny, SK; his two daughters Jessica (Gary) Forrest from Alingly, SK and Michelle (Dave) Street from Prince Albert, SK; his 10 grandchildren Shauna (Jamie) Babb from Brooks, AB, Dustin (Shylee) Fisher, Matthew and Lucas Fisher from Dalmeny, SK, Jennifer (Real) Gagne from Alingly, SK, Nicole (Roy Brodecki) Forrest from Alingly, SK, Jay (Christie) Forrest from Saskatoon, SK, Heather (Dave) Schultz of Spruce Home, SK, Adam (Ashley) Kerley from Prince Albert, SK and Ryan Kerley from Prince Albert, SK. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Henry, Ray and Bobby and 2 sisters Pheobe Schutte and Louise Gale. Bud was predeceased by his son Roland; his parents Jessie and George Fisher; his mother and father-in-law Helen and J.E. Marquis; six brothers and two sisters. Bud was generous, tough, hardworking and a gentleman. He was the first one to buy the coffee and the last one to leave the party. Bud excelled at any sport he chose. He was a softball pitcher, a golfer, curler, fisherman and hunter. Always busy, he was first and foremost a grain farmer. Bud was very proud of his children and grandchildren, he dearly loved his family and friends. As per Bud’s request no Funeral Service will be held. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to Mont St. Joseph Foundation, 777 – 28th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 8C2. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
