Passed away suddenly at the Health Science Centre on Wednesday, January 30th, 2013, age 84 years. Beloved husband of Marjorie (Midge Simmons) for 55 years. Born and raised in Moray, Scotland, with his sister Margaret and brother Ian, Bob came to Canada in 1954 and enjoyed a 31 year career with the Canadian Marconi Company. Leaving to mourn his wife, three sons: Andrew of Barrie, ON, Ian and wife Kathy (O’Driscoll) of Ottawa, ON, and Brian and wife Tanya (Jeans) of St. John’s, NL and their two sons, Poppy K’s treasured grandsons: William and David. Also leaving to mourn two sisters-in-law: Ruth (Simmons) Babich of Greendale, WI, and Lorraine (Garf) Simmons of St. John’s, NL; a number of nieces and nephews in St. John’s, Nova Scotia, the United States and Great Britain, as well as other relatives and friends. At his request, cremation has taken place. Flowers graciously declined. A reception to celebrate his life is planned for Monday, February 4th anytime between 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Clovelly Golf Club, 178 Stavanger Drive.
