Dartmouth - Karen Diane (MacNeil) Fisher – With deeply saddened hearts, the family of Karen (MacNeil) Fisher announce her passing on Feb. 2, 2013 at the Victoria General Hospital, after a short but valiant battle against cancer. She was born on July 17, 1962, a daughter of Lois (Feltmate) Connors and the late Cecil MacNeil. Karen is survived by her husband Ron and their five children: Diana, Johnathan (J.D.), Ronnie, Kevin and Andrew all of Dartmouth; mother Lois Connors, New Glasgow; sisters: Tena MacDonald (Bob Crawford), Westville; Teresa Merkley (Brian Robinson), Williamsburg, ON; Susan (Robert) MacPhail, Pictou; Mary (Ken) Cunningham, New Glasgow; brothers: John (Jackoline), Iroquois, ON; and Patrick (Cyril Blackie), New Glasgow; along with several dearly loved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Cecil MacNeil and brother Andy. She worked as a sales associate in the Dartmouth Crossing Wal-Mart where she gained a second family who also greatly loved and cared for her. She is resting at the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave, New Glasgow, NS with visiting on Monday, Feb. 4 from 7-9 pm and Tuesday, Feb. 5 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 2 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Stephen Fram. Interment ceremony at Christ the King Cemetery, with a reception to follow. Family flowers only please. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, the Victoria Order of Nurses or the Canadian Red Cross.
