LEGER, STELLA M. - Stella Marie Leger, 87, wife of the late Joseph “Joe” Alyre Leger of Dieppe and formerly of Shediac, passed away on Saturday, February 2nd, 2013 at the K.E. Spencer Memorial Home following a lengthy illness. Born in Moncton, on July 27th, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Antoine and Alice (Henri) LeBlanc. Stella is survived by a son, Pierre Leger (Dorothy) of Corunna, Ontario; a daughter, Anne-Marie Leger (Marc Fournier) of Moncton; two sisters: Blanche Gallant (late John) of Moncton and Anne-Marie Dorsey (late Irwin) of Lincoln, California; numerous nieces and nephews across Canada. Besides her husband, she is also predeceased by seven brothers: infants Normand, Laurent, and René; Françis (Jeannine), Yvon, Zoël (Doraine), Léo “Bino” (Margaret); a sister, Lorraine Després (Aquilla).
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated Tuesday, February 5th at 2 pm. Visiting hours from 1 pm Tuesday. A reception in the Frenette Centre will be held immediately following the funeral. At the request of the family, in memory of Stella, a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
