DONALD FORBES RUTLEDGE

Passed away peacefully at home in his sleep. Survived by his wife Marilyn (Miller), sons Donald Gordon, Michael David, and Kenneth Andrew; and grandchildren Emily, Megan, Ian and Christina. Predeceased by his brother Robert, sister Betty, mother Edythe, and father Anson.
Don was born in Vancouver, grew up in Vancouver and Montreal, and spent summers in Roberts Creek where his parents moved in the 50's.
Don served with the Armed Forces as an aircraft mechanic with Ferry Command, and then with the RCAF 411 squadron in England, Holland, France and Germany. Don and Marilyn married in Montreal in 1952, moving to Vancouver in 1953 where they raised their family. Don established and managed an office for an instrumentation company where he worked until he retired in 1982. Don and Marilyn retired to Roberts Creek in 1980 and moved to Sechelt in 1998.
Our sincerest thanks to all the health care providers on the Sunshine Coast: Dr Bryson; St. Mary's Hospital staff; BC Ambulance Service Paramedics; Coastal Health; and especially to the home care workers who cared for Don in his home. Your professionalism, compassion and humor made such a difference.
