At the Palliative Care Unit of Community Hospital, O'Leary, on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, of Gordon Anderson MacDonald, O'Leary, formerly of West Point, aged 85, husband of the late Joan Deighan. Born in West Point April 15, 1927, son of the late Ernest and Beatrice
(Bulger) MacDonald. Dear father to Dean (Anna), Summerside; Danny (Karen), Ottawa; Mary (Wayne) Clark, Charlottetown; Joseph, Charlottetown; Jerome (Andrea), Fredericton. Loving grandfather to 14 grandchildren. Gordon is also survived by brothers and sisters Tryphosa Carruthers, O'Leary; Linwood (Audrey) MacDonald, West Point; Geraldine (Mel) Sampson, Sydney, N.S.; Gertrude Gay, Ottawa; Lorraine (Leroy) Glenn, Tatamagouche, N.S.; Tanya (Michael) DesRoches, Summerside and sister-in-law Thelma MacDonald, O¹Leary. Predeceased by his parents, wife Joan (1996), son David (1999), sister Daisy (Harry) Young, brother Owen MacDonald, brothers-in-law Gordon Gay and Allison Carruthers. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O'Leary, with visiting hours Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment to follow at a later date in the Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Cemetery, Glenwood. In memory of Gordon, memorials to the West Prince Hospice or to the Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Cemetery would be appreciated.
