Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Saturday, February 9, 2013, Elizabeth V. ‘Betty’ Penney of Carbonear, age 97 years. Predeceased by 1st husband: Johnathon Carew and 2nd husband: Abram Penney; sister: Dolly and step-grandson: Terry. Leaving to mourn, son: Campbell (Sylvia) Carew, St. John’s; two grandchildren: Christopher (Heidi) and Andrea (Paul); three great-grandchildren: Sarah, Johnathon and Olivia; step-daughter: Eileen (Woodrow) Snow, Kelligrews; two step-grandchildren: Lisa and Tammy; sister-in-law: Minnie (Don) Kirby, Boston. Ever loved and sadly missed by legions of dear friends and extended family too numerous to mention. With a sharp wit, mind and sense of humour that never left her, she leaves a gap in all our hearts.
