Funeral - Jessome
The funeral for Austin P. (Sam) Jessome was held on Jan 20, 2010 at Chant\'s Funeral Home, where a large turnout of friends and relatives came to pay their respects. Preceding the funeral service which was conducted by Rev. Bob Hussey, there was a lovely Masonic service honouring Sam who just recently received his 50 year Jewel. Rev. Hussey read several scripture selections including the 23rd Psalm. Sam\'s two favourite hymns \"In the Garden\" and \"Beautiful Isle of Somewhere\" were sung by Kirk Neville. Sandy Scott delivered the Eulogy and highlighted different milestones of Sam\'s life. The service concluded with Rev. Hussey giving the Benediction followed by the sounding of the Last Post. The burial took place on Jan. 21, 2010 in Harborview Cemetery, South Haven, Victoria Co.

We, the family of the late Austin P. (Sam) Jessome wish to express our sincere thanks to those who showed their love, support, prayers and acts of kindness during Sam\'s illness and upon his death. We especially want to thank the PCW\'s who cared for him daily and the VON nurses who came to our home - you all brightened his days. Dr. Peter Jackson who was always there for him, Dr. Ritter, Dr. Loewen, and the nursing staff of Palliative Care you are special people and the nursing staff of the Glace Bay General Hospital, all of whom took such good care of him. Thank you to those who sent flowers, memorial donations, cards and phone calls. Thank you to those who brought food to our home. Thank you to his honorary pallbearers, James Doucet, Earl Cann, David Jessome, George MacDougall, Sandy Scott, Ron Upson, Robert MacNeil, and Donald Morrison. Thank you to the Masons for their service, Sandy Scott for the Eulogy and to Kirk Neville who sang his favourite hymns. Thank you to Robbie MacDougall, Roy Geddes ad Bruce Olson who always made sure that Sam got to his coffee club safely. And finally, thank you to Rev. Bob Hussey and the staff of Chants Funeral Home for their kind and compassionate support.
