Clarence Marcel Muise
The doors of heaven opened wide and Dad, age 90, was welcomed home on February 11, 2013. The family and extended family are saddened by the loss of their precious Dad and Grandpapa, Clarence. However, we have been blessed to have been part of his life and we are joyful knowing that he is in the presence of his loving Saviour. Born in Quinan on April 20, 1922 he was the son of the late Albert (a Hat) and Philomene (LeFave) Muise. He lived in Springhaven until he moved with his daughter Eileen and son-in-law Mark in Yarmouth. Clarence passed away peacefully at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital in the presence of his daughter, Eileen and his two angels and care-givers, Odette LeBlanc and Nadia Crosby who nursed him with tender loving care during his five years with us in our home. Please know that he was dearly loved and the quality of care he received was unmatchable. He loved his children and doted over his grandchildren. He observed in wonderment and glowed with pride and joy whenever his great-grandchildren came to visit. He was a very loving father and grandpapa-we hold in our hearts all the treasured memories that we shared. He loved to tease his granddaughter Tammy. He couldn’t wait until Luc came on Christmas Eve to sing his favourite song “Holy Night”; our last family Christmas celebration is engraved in our hearts! At the young age of 19 he served overseas in the Canadian Army during World War II for four years. Thereafter he worked his entire life as a carpenter. He worked as a caretaker of the Club des Audacieux in Quinan for numerous years. He gave generously to many, had a wink in his eyes and always had a smile on his face. Most of his life he worshipped at the St. Agnes church in Quinan. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 61, Yarmouth. Mourning his departure are his daughter Eileen Muise-Stevens (Mark), his son Larry Muise (Kim), grand children Denise Vacon (Beth Evans), Tammy Vacon, Michelle Thomas (Danny), Johnathon Muise (Lisa), Nicole Muise and Tyler Muise as well as two heart-adopted daughters of Eileen, Jeannine d’Eon (Wendell) and Claudette d’Eon (Johnny). He had the fortune to know five great-grand children. He is the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his wife Lorraine and brothers Augustin, Lawrence, Fred, Abel and Adolph and sisters Elizabeth and Ilene. He leaves behind two nephews. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation took place Wednesday, February 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 with prayers at 3 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home. Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 61 funeral service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral mass was held Thursday, February 14 at 11 a.m. from St. Agnes Church, Quinan, with Father Albenie d’Entremont officiating. A Métis ceremony followed. Internment took place in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only by request. Donations in Clarence’s memory may be made to the Victoria Order of Nurses, Tri-County Branch …. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord!
