Mildred Apblett, of Kings Court Apartments, Sydney, formerly of Webster Street, Whitney Pier, passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, An Cala Unit.
Born in Dominion, she was the daughter of the late James and Edith (MacDonald) MacLeod.
Surviving are her sons, Ronnie and Johnnie, with whom she resided; daughters, Suzanne (Albert) Hussey, Judy (George) Carew and Dale (Leo) Mombourquette, all of Sydney. She is also survived by her sisters, Muriel (Art) Pettite, British Columbia, and Mary (the late Ralph) Byron, Halifax; brother, Daniel (the late Shirley) MacLeod, Ontario; 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Millie was predeceased by her husband, John and grandson, Kirt Mombourquette.
She was a member of the ladies auxillary, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 128, Whitney Pier.
Visitation will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel today (Wednesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Alban’s Anglican Church, Whitney Pier on Thursday, 2 p.m., with Archdeacon Brenda Drake officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the An Cala Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital or a charity of your choice.
