It is with great sadness that the family of the late Vina May Durdle of Port au Port East (Boswarlos), NL announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, NL on Monday, February 11, 2013 at the age of 81 years. She leaves to mourn her children: Beverly (Brian) Harvey, Kathleen (Michael) Lyver, Pius (Bessy) Durdle, Juanita (John) Orenchuk, Sheila Young, Michael Durdle; 15 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister Gertie Kendall; sister-in-law Jeannette (Ron) Revelle; brother-in-law Melvin (Mary) Locklyn; life long friend Jenny Benoit; special home care worker Maryanne Sheffield and her husband Larry Young who she was blessed to have in her life for the past seven years (thank you for the excellent care) as well as other family and many friends. She was pre-deceased by her parents Walter & Josebelle Young; daughter Gertrude Ann; brothers: Steve, Pius and Mike. Visitation will take place at Maria Regina Parish, Port au Port East on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. from where the Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Terry Boland and Father Maurice O’Quinn officiating. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Port au Port East. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of ones’ choice.
