It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Albert Theophilus ‘Chill’ Lever of Glace Bay on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 at the Glace Bay General Hospital, with his family by his side.
Born in Reserve Mines, he was a son of the late Peter and Anastasia (Boudreau) Lever.
Albert was a veteran of the Second World War, serving with the Canadian Armed Forces from 1942-1946 until his honorable discharge with numerous medals. He was also a member of the John Bernard Croak V.C. Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 3 of Glace Bay.
A mechanic by trade, Albert resided in Toronto for 50 years before returning to Cape Breton in 2006. Known for his kind, gentle nature and love for his family, Chill will be greatly missed.
He is survived by sisters Marie LeBlanc, Glace Bay; Alice Flynn, New Jersey; many niece and nephews.
Besides his parents, Albert was predeceased by his first wife Kay; second wife Hilda; brothers Joseph, Arthur, George, Alfred, John Joe, Harry (Brother Liguori); sisters Annie Mae, Mary, Isabel, Margaret.
In honouring Albert's wishes, cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay, and there will be no visitation or funeral service. Burial will be held at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Glace Bay.
