ANDERSON, MURRAY - The death of Murray Anderson of Charlo occurred at his home on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the age of 96. Born in Belledune, he was the son of the late Edward and Edith (Nichol) Anderson. He started his working career at a young age at Oliver Dewar’s in Campbellton and then at MacMillan’s Wholesale in Jacquet River. He then enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force. After the Second World War he started selling life insurance and in later years added general insurance, joining with a partner to establish Anderson & Lake Insurance. Murray was very involved in the church as an elder, treasurer as well as sitting on several other boards. He was a Mason, a Rotarian who received the Paul Harris Award, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and served on the Charlo Village Council. He was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman. Murray was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Murray is survived by his wife Ann; daughters Joan Petersen (Manley) of Charlo, Marlene Brimsacle (Don) of Charlo; son Wayne (Lise) of Wasaga Beach, ON; foster daughter Bernice Miller (Jack) of Quispamsis; 10 grandchildren,19 great grandchildren as well as his sisters Charlotte Renault and Joan Ramsay and brother Nigel. He was predeceased by his sister Mary.
His funeral will be held from Bethel United Church, Nash Creek, Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 12 o'clock with visitation at MacMillan’s Funeral Home Wednesday, February 20 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. In lieu of flowers, donations to the New Brunswick Extra Mural Program or the New Mills Protestant Cemetery Fund in memory of Murray would be appreciated by the family.
