It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father, Michael, on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his loving children, Darren (Jenni), Gregory, Stanley (Salam) and Leeann (Thomas). Beloved grandfather to Avery, Aidan, Caelan and Clare. Michael will be sadly missed by his sister, Ann and brother, Blaise and many family and friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Donald; mother, Catherine and sister, Virginia.
The family wishes to express our gratitude for the exceptional care, kindness and support of Michael's VON nurses and his palliative care team at Toronto East General Hospital.
Visitation for Mr. MacNeil will take place on Saturday from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday at Sacred Heart Church, Johnstown with Rev. Joseph Gillis officiating. Reception to follow in parish hall. Interment in the parish cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
